This is a List of Birmingham homicides in 2011. It includes homicide cases occuring within the city limits during the calendar year. Note that a "homicide" refers to the cause of death as determined by a medical examiner, not to the commission of the crime of murder as charged by police and prosecutors.

One homicide has been reported in the city as of January 13, putting Birmingham on pace for 28 in 2011. Based on the 2010 census estimate of 229,151 population, that represents 12.2 homicides per 100,000 population for the year. Birmingham had 63 homicides in 2010, 72 in 2009, 90 in 2008, and a record of 141 in 1992. At this time in 2010 there had been no homicides.

Birmingham is averaging 2.4 homicides per month, or one every 13 days. There was 1 incident in January. The longest stretch without a homicide was the 12 days between January 1 and 12. One death was reported on a Wednesday.

Of the 1 reported homicide, suspects have been identified in no cases, apprehended in none, charged in none and convicted in none.

None of the reported homicides were shootings, and one resulted from a beating. 1 incident took place in a vacant lot. 1 victim was a male and none were females.
