The 2008 primary elections were divided into two election days. Presidential primaries and the 2008 Jefferson County Commission special election were held on February 5, while all other primaries are scheduled for June 3.
Statewide presidential primaries
With 96% of boxes returned, 1,039,564 votes had been counted, representing more than 38% of registered voters in Alabama.
