American Family Care (AFC) is a Birmingham-based chain of primary healthcare facilities with 13 locations in the metro area and a total of 20 across the state. The company was founded by Dr Bruce Irwin in 1982 when the first AFC clinic opened at 1680 Montgomery Highway in Hoover. AFC's corporate headquarters are located at 2147 Riverchase Office Road in Hoover.
