There are plans to nearly double the size of the parking deck, adding 600 to 700 spaces for a cost of $18.9 million. The [[Birmingham City Council]] approved the proposal in December [[2006]] and approved a $13.88 million bid from [[Brasfield & Gorrie]] to perform the work in March [[2008]]. The expansion will support, in part, the conversion of the adjacent [[Regions Plaza]] building into a Marriott Renaissance Hotel.

Birmingham Parking Authority Deck 3 (or the Birmingham Green Parking Deck) is a 9-story, 769-space parking deck owned and operated by the Birmingham Parking Authority and located on 4th Avenue North between 20th and 21st Streets. It was designed by Cobb, Adams & Benton architects and built by the Domit Construction Company. The deck opened on March 1, 1976.

A project to add 700 spaces to the deck as well as to reconfigure the entrances and exits, renew the facade and install new payment and monitoring systems began in May 2008. The Birmingham City Council approved the proposal in December 2006 and accepted a $13.88 million bid from Brasfield & Gorrie to perform the work in March 2008.
