Brookwood Baptist Medical Center, founded in 1973 as Brookwood Hospital, is a 595-bed full-service acute care hospital located at 2010 Brookwood Medical Center Drive, off of U.S. Highway 31 (Independence Drive) on the north slope of Shades Mountain above the Brookwood Village shopping center in Homewood.

Brookwood Hospital's parent, Tenet Healthcare Corp., merged with Baptist Health System in October 2015 to former Brookwood Baptist Health.

The hospital's CEO is Jeremy Clark, who succeeded Tim Puthoff in September 2021.

In November 2021 Brookwood Baptist broke ground on a new 18,922-square-foot surgery center with 13 operating rooms. Robins & Morton was the contractor for the $30 million project.
