Clean Life Treatment Center is a proposed methadone clinic and social services center which has applied to locate in an existing building at 3720 4th Avenue South in Avondale. In addition to methadone treatments, the center plans to provide a clothing closet, counseling, GED preparation and English as a second language instruction. The center, which would serve as many as 325 clients, was incorporated by Thandi McClain of Montevallo. Its application to the state's Certificate of Need board was opposed by neighborhood residents and businesses, including Bottletree Cafe, which would share an alley with the clinic.
