The Eastwood Amazon Distribution Center (originally referred to as "Project Magic") is a 201,475 square-foot delivery station constructed for Amazon on the site of the former Century Plaza shopping mall, at the intersection of Crestwood Boulevard and Oporto-Madrid Boulevard in Eastwood. The facility replaced the North Birmingham Amazon Distribution Center at 2601 27th Street North.
The distribution center was developed by the "Century Plaza Co.", a subsidiary of the Stonemont Financial Group of Atlanta, Georgia, for an overall estimated cost of $60 million. They acquired the property from Lumpkin Development for $12 million. Brasfield & Gorrie won the $36,928,000 contract for construction. Demolition of the former mall began on November 12, 2020.
