Frigid Records was a used and new retailer of vinyl records and compact discs. The business was started in January 2009 by Ryan and Erin James out of their Irondale home.

Beginning February 7, 2009, Frigid Records was open on Saturdays inside Magic City Motor Scooters at 1305 2nd Avenue North downtown. The James' planned to have sales at GreencupBooks as well, and planned to open a dedicated storefront.

The store held its grand opening on March 14, 2009 at the 2nd Avenue North space, featuring The I.R.S. and a raffle to benefit the APT show We Have Signal.
