McCallum Basic Health Sciences Building in 2016

The Charles A. McCallum Basic Health Sciences Building is a 9 story modern red-brick laboratory building on the UAB campus on the northwest corner of 20th Street and University Boulevard. It was constructed in 1985 on the former site of the Jefferson County Public Health Building. It was designed by Adams, Peacher, Keeton, Cosby of Atlanta, Georgia.

The building is named for former UAB president Charles A. "Scotty" McCallum.
