- This article is about the costume and prop shop. For other uses see Playhouse.
Playhouse Costume Co-Op & Scene Shop is a costume and prop shop located at 1912 1st Avenue North in Irondale.
Owners Ed and Mary Gurney opened The Playhouse in 2005 in the Graves Building at 1818 3rd Avenue North in downtown Birmingham. In addition to selling and renting materials for theater productions, the downtown shop was used as a venue by the City Equity Theatre and Theatre Downtown.
In 2009 the Gurneys relocated to Irondale, joining Oz Works Event Scenery, A.G. Lighting, All Events and Avid in the city's small community of stage and event service companies.
