Randy L. Merritt (born Durham, North Carolina) was an employee of Southern Research Institute for twenty-five years. He now works as a consultant in the coal-fired power plant industry.
Merritt has the south's largest collection of World's Fair memorabilia, some of which has been displayed in the Birmingham Public Library. His also collects a variety of Birmingham memorabilia, Vulcan memorabilia, and an assortment of other antiques.
He resides in Birmingham's Forest Park neighborhood.
