Randall Dane "Randy" Sandford (born August 27, 1968; died May 19, 2009 in Birmingham) was an administrative assistant at the UAB School of Nursing and an architecture enthusiast who worked diligently documenting the buildings of Birmingham as well as other cities.

Sandford was interested in architecture from an early age, often sketching buildings. He graduated from Cathedral Christian School in Birmingham and entered Auburn University to study architecture. A bout of mononucleosis hampered his coursework and he transferred to UAB to complete his undergraduate degree in psychology in 1991.

In addition to photographing buildings, skylines and urban scenes, Sandford created and published the Birmingham Design website and produced detailed diagrams of Birmingham's and Atlanta's tall buildings for the SkyscraperPage.com website.

Sandford died in May 2009 from injuries sustained when he was crushed between two Amtrak cars near the Birmingham Amtrak Station on Morris Avenue. It is believed that he was scouting photography locations and attempted to cross between two cars when the train began moving.

Sandford, a resident of Trussville, was survived by his wife, Cindy and two sons, Austin and Andrew. They are members of The Healing Place church. Sandford is buried at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East in Trussville.
