Reading Room

"Reading Room" is a c. 2004 mural by Patricia Martin commissioned by Southpace Properties for the outside wall of Gus's Hot Dogs at 1915 4th Avenue North to enhance their surface parking lot on the corner of 4th and 20th Street North. The concept of the work, which depicts a living room complete with a pink upholstered chair, a landscape tapestry, a bookshelf, table lamp and cat, is to reflect the transition of downtown into a place where people live and relax as well as work. The composition also incorporates an existing through-wall air conditioning unit.
