Sara Garden Armstrong (born c. 1943 in Birmingham) is an artist and a former art instructor at UAB. Best known for her public sculpture and multimedia installations concerned with the production of sound, Armstrong also creates drawings, artist's books, and paintings.

Armstrong completed her Master of Fine Arts at the University of Alabama and her Master of Art Education at UAB. She also studied art at New York University and at the University of Windsor, Ontario in Yeovil, England. She taught at UAB before moving to New York City in 1981.

Locally, Armstrong has had solo exhibitions at the UAB Visual Arts Gallery, University of Montevallo, Space One Eleven, Maralyn Wilson Gallery, Alabama School of Fine Arts, and the Birmingham Museum of Art.

Armstrong's "Airplayer VII" is in the collection of the Birmingham Museum of Art and her "Rhythmic Marking" was installed at Perimeter Park South by the Birmingham Realty Company. Her work is also in the collections of the Centre Georges Pompidou and Bibliotheque National in Paris, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
