SouthPoint Bank
SouthPoint Bank is a Birmingham-based bank headquartered at 3501 Grandview Parkway in Birmingham. Steve Smith is president and CEO of the bank which was formed in 2005 by former SouthTrust Bank employees after its acquisition by Wachovia.
SouthPoint opened its first location at 3500 Colonnade Parkway in the Colonnade Shopping Center in October 2005. A second branch opened in November 2006 in Trussville at 7260 Gadsden Highway near the intersection of Deerfoot Parkway. On August 20, 2007, the bank's third location opened on Main Street in Gardendale. The fourth branch office opened in Wilsonville in September 2014.
SouthPoint completed its headquarters office in January 2018 on the site of a former Kobe Japanese Steakhouse visible from U.S. Highway 280. It also operates six mortgage offices across the state.
