The John N. Whitaker Building (originally the 500 Building or UAHSF Administration Building) is a five-story office building on the southeast corner of 22nd Street South and 6th Avenue South. It was constructed in 2001 for the University of Alabama Health Services Foundation, which operates the UAB Health System.

The concrete-framed building was designed by TRO/The Ritchie Organization and uses gray granite cladding and blue-tinted glazing similar to the adjacent Kirklin Clinic. In 2002 the building was renamed in honor of neurologist John Whitaker.

In 2016 the UAB Health System moved about 650 business, billing and coding operations employees to a former bank operations center at 720 39th Street North in North Avondale to free space in the Whitaker building for physicians' offices and clinical staff. The $10 million renovation involved the third and fourth floors and included a pedestrian connector bridge to the adjacent parking deck. Doster Construction Company was the general contractor and the architect was Gresham, Smith & Partners.
