Birmingham Civil Rights Conference

The Birmingham Civil Rights Conference is an annual event co-sponsored by the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute and the FBI Birmingham Field Office which aims to develop tools to allow law enforcement agencies and communities impacted by injustices to better communicate and achieve shared goals.

2016

The 2016 Birmingham Civil Rights Conference was held on May 2425 at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute. FBI Director James Comey gave a closing address at 16th Street Baptist Church.

The conference title was "Race and Law Enforcement: It's More Than Just Black and White."

2023

The 2023 Birmingham Civil Rights Conference was held on September 24September 25 at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute.

2024

The 2024 Birmingham Civil Rights Conference was held on April 1516 at 16th Street Baptist Church. FBI Director Christopher Wray and Assistant U.S. Attorney General Kristen Clarke spoke at the conference. The conference title was "The Trauma of Crime and Hate."
