Frank McArthur
Frank Duncan McArthur (born 1877 in Escambia County, Florida; died 1949 in Birmingham) was an attorney.
McArthur was the first child born to William Franklin McArthur and his first wife, the former Lillie Fletcher Connelly. She died when Frank was an infant, and William was remarried, to the former Ellen Ophelia Watson, in 1883, producing five more children.
On November 24, 1904 McArthur married the former Amilee Rosamond.
From 1922 to 1927 McArthur was a member of the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws.
McArthur served on the Birmingham Board of Education from 1923 to 1949. During his last eights years on the board he served as president, succeeding Erskine Ramsay.
McArthur died in 1949 and is buried at Elmwood Cemetery. F. D. McArthur School in Druid Hills was named in his honor.
