Hope Community Church

Hope Community Church is a satellite campus of Shades Mountain Baptist Church, located in the former McElwain Baptist Church at 4445 Montevallo Road in Birmingham's Crestline neighborhood.

The members of McElwain Baptist voted on October 18, 2020 to accept a proposal to be "adopted" by Shades Mountain Baptist. The church adopted new by-laws and articles of incorporation. Former SMBC Minister to Single Adults Jacob Simmons was appointed as pastor of the new church, which opened under its new name on Sunday, November 1.
