The Birmingham Gallery of Distinguished Citizens is a hall of fame for distinguished Birmingham citizens. Nominations are made by the Birmingham City Council. Bronze bas-relief plaques of those nominated are then placed in lobby at Birmingham City Hall. The gallery was inaugurated in 1977. Beginning in 2008 touch-screen displays have been added so that visitors can learn more about the individuals honored.
