The 2009 Birmingham-Southern College Panthers football season will be the 3rd for the college since the program was resurrrected in 2006. Eddie Garfinkle is head coach for the 2nd year. Both previous seasons saw the Panthers go 3-7. For the first season, the Panthers will play all their home games at Panther Stadium at the BSC Athletics Complex.
Schedule and results (4-3)
- September 5: Lost to LaGrange College 30-27 on a last-minute field goal in LaGrange, Georgia.
- September 12: Defeated Campbell University 35-28 at Panther Stadium. The Panthers won with a 32-yard overtime touchdown pass from junior quarterback Joe Thigpen to senior wide receiver Tay Walker.
- September 26: Defeated Rhodes College 51-17 at Panther Stadium.
- October 3: Lost to Trinity University 41-14 in San Antonio, Texas.
- October 10: Lost to Centre College 14-13 at Panther Stadium.
- October 17: Defeated Austin College 35-28 in Sherman, Texas.
- October 24: Defeated University of the South 34-17 in Sewanee, Tennessee.
- October 31: DePauw University at Panther Stadium
- November 7: Huntington College, homecoming at Panther Stadium
- November 14: Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi
