The Birmingham Hammers is a professional soccer team which was formed in 2013 and began competing in the National Premier Soccer League's Southeast Conference in May 2016. The club expected to join the more prestigious United Soccer League in 2019.
The club was founded by Morgan Copes and John Killian to promote professional soccer in Birmingham. With the addition of Evon Noyes, Eric Lopez and Wade Honeycutt, the organization developed a brand identity to market the concept.
