The Homewood City Council is the legislative body for the city of Homewood. It is made up of two representatives from each of five wards. One representative is then elected President of the Council. The council meets in the evenings on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month.
2012
As of the 2012 election the council is made up of:
- President: Bruce Limbaugh
- Ward 1, Place 1: Michael Hallman
- Ward 1, Place 2: Britt Thames
- Ward 2, Place 1: Fred Hawkins
- Ward 2, Place 2: Vance Moody
- Ward 3, Place 1: Patrick McClusky
- Ward 3, Place 2: Walter Jones or Fred Azbik
- Ward 4, Place 1: Jenifer Champ Wallis
- Ward 4, Place 2: Alex Wyatt (appointed after resignation of Heather Reid in May 2015)
- Ward 5, Place 1: Richard Laws
- Ward 5, Place 2: Peter Wright

- President: Allyn Holladay (after resignation of Jeff Underwood, August 9, 2010)
- Ward 1, Place 1: Marcus Huskey (appointed after resignation of Anthony Smith on February 29, 2012; sworn in June 11)

- Ward 2, Place 1: Fred Hawkins (appointed after Holladay assumed presidency)
