List of Birmingham communities

This is a list of Birmingham communities. There are 23 recognized neighborhoods within Birmingham's Community Participation Program :

• Airport Hills (5 neighborhoods: Airport Highlands, Brownsville Heights, Brummitt Heights, Maple Grove, Penfield Park), population 1,540
• Brownville (3 neighborhoods: East Brownville, Roosevelt, West Brownville), population 3,101

Districts

In 2018 the Birmingham Department of Public Works divided the city into four "districts" to better schedule weed cutting of rights of way and vacant lots. These were grouped by community as follows:

• North District: Smithfield, North Birmingham, Northside, East Birmingham
• South District: West End, Titusville, Southside, Red Mountain, Crestline, Crestwood, Cahaba, Southwest (part)
• East District: Woodlawn, East Lake, Roebuck-South East Lake, Airport Hills, Huffman, East Pinson Valley
• West District: Five Points West, Pratt, Brownville, Grasselli, Ensley, Southwest (part)
