Roosevelt is a neighborhood on the southwestern corner of Birmingham. From 1967 to 1988 it was incorporated as an independent municipality. After being annexed into Birmingham, it was made part of the city's neighboring Brownville community.

The neighborhood adjoins West Brownville to the east and the cities of Midfield to the north, Brighton to the west, and Lipscomb to the south. It is divided by Valley Creek and includes the Hudson Grove and Broadmoor subdivisions.

Roosevelt Park and the Roosevelt Recreation Center are located at 5904 Higan Avenue. The Housing Authority of the Birmingham District's Benjamin Greene Village project and its Roosevelt City Community Center are also located in Roosevelt. School students in the neighborhood attend Oxmoor K-8 School and Wenonah High School. The former Roosevelt Elementary School on Sugar Way Drive is now a preschool operated by Gunn Academy. The A. G. Gaston Elementary School on Oakwood Street closed in 2011 and is also a preschool, operated by First Baptist Church of Roosevelt's Premiere Academy. Birmingham Fire Station No. 11 is also in the Roosevelt neighborhood, at 4601 Bessemer Super Highway.
