Alan R. Barasch was born at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham in 1950. He attended Tarrant Elementary School, McElwain School, Ramsay High, Shades Valley High School, Marion Institute, and graduated in the first class at Mountain Brook High School in 1968.

My ancestor, Harris Olim had a grocery store on the North side from about 1885. He is listed as one of the founders of Knesset Israel Congregation.
I worked at the Emily Shop in Five Points South for 14 years between 1970 and 1986.
Father had a mens store in Five Points South 1972-83.
Father had a family clothing store in Tarrant City, Barasch’s Save-A-Plenty, 1952-61.
Have known LKSeitz since he was a child.
My father was the first advertiser when Country Boy Eddie Burns went on television around 1955.
Was president of the Birmingham Philatelic Society, 1978-1984
Wrote chronology section of the Century book for Temple Emanu-El, 1982.
Brother was first local person hired at Sam's Club in Homewood when it opened in 1984.
Another brother was team tailor for the Birmingham Bulls hockey team.
