AI Metrics is a software developer which publishes an artificial intelligence-enabled tool which helps radiologists evaluate medical imaging of advanced cancers. Its offices are located in Birmingham's Innovation Depot.
The company was founded in September 2019 by radiologist Andrew Smith with former investment banker Bob Jacobus, and product manager Paige Severino. The company was awarded research funding from the National Science Foundation and also raised $1.7 million in 2020.
The company secured U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval for its "AI Mass" software platform in 2021.
Jacobus, who was promoted from COO to CEO in June 2022, left the company in July 2023.
