Allen Bolton

Glen Allen Bolton Jr (born c. 1963) is the executive vice president for strategy and finance for Southern Research, and a former senior vice president for finance and administration at UAB.

Bolton earned a bachelor of science in public health education from the University of Tennessee in 1985. He came to UAB in 1987 to pursue an MBA and a master of public health in health care organization and policy. He began working as deputing director of the UAB Injury Control Research Center in graduate school. After that he served as director of community affairs and executive administrator for the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center, and as senior associate dean for finance and administration for the UAB School of Medicine.

In 2011 Bolton left to become a senior vice president for finance and administration and chief operating officer at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He returned to UAB in 2014 to serve as vice president for financial affairs and administration, and was promoted to senior vice president in 2018.

Bolton retired from UAB effective January 1, 2021. On June 1 of that year he began serving in his present position at Southern Research.
