Mr and Ms UAB

Mr and Ms UAB are crowned each year at UAB's homecoming to lead the Student Alumni Society and represent the student body on the National Alumni Society's board of directors.

The event was instituted by the National Alumni Society and is intended to honor students for their academic achievements, leadership and active involvement in campus life and in the broader community. The winners are selected by a panel of alumni and faculty. Beginning in 2009 UAB students were invited to vote as well, collectively acting as a seventh judge. Winners receive a scholarship which has grown from $250 to $2,500 since the first winners were crowned.
