Donald Stone is a former insurance broker and founder of the Princeton Furniture Market.
Stone graduated from Birmingham City Schools and Lawson State Community College, and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration at Alabama State University. He has volunteered as a basketball coach and to lead GED classes for the Jefferson County Family Court.
Stone challenged incumbent Wardine Alexander for the District 7 seat on the Birmingham City Council in the 2021 Birmingham municipal election. As a candidate he pledged to improve policing, expand job training opportunities, and incentivize the rehabilitation of housing.
