Southtown Senior is a 158,384 square-foot, 143-unit apartment building constructed in 2024 as part of the Edgehill at Southtown redevelopment of the former Southtown Court public housing project in Birmingham's Southside.
The apartment building was developed jointly by the Benoit Group of Atlanta, Georgia and the Housing Authority of Birmingham District. The contractor for the $39 million project was Capstone Building Corp.
In addition to the 143 1- and 2-bedroom units, the building houses a community lounge, exercise room, business center, tenant storage, off-street parking, and building-wide Wi-Fi internet. The facility operates programs including monthly arts and crafts activities, health screenings, and holiday parties.
