77th Street South is a residential street that runs from 77th Way South to the edge of Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve in South East Lake.

The section of 77th Street South from Division Avenue to just past Rugby Avenue, originally part of East Lake's 9th Street, later became part of Oporto-Madrid Boulevard. Historically the street served as the western boundary of the Howard College campus and carried part of the South Highlands streetcar line.

The northwest-southeast section continuing to 8th Avenue South, just past Paris Avenue, cuts diagonally through the residential street grid. From there it bends east to align with the grid. As it approaches the steep slope of Ruffner Mountain the street curves back around and terminates at Toulon Avenue.
