April Williams

April Myers Williams (born c. 1963 in Birmingham) is a manager of consumer and industry contact for the U.S. Postal Service and a three-term member of the Birmingham Board of Education representing District 8.

Williams is the daughter of Frank C. Myers, Sr and his wife, Carolyn. She graduated from Jackson-Olin High School in 1980 and completed an accounting certificate from the Birmingham Skills Center. She has taken additional classes in finance and management from Jefferson State Community College and Lawson State Community College. She has also completed managerial training from the U.S. Postal Service and attained master-level board membership from the Alabama Association of School Boards.

In addition to her service with the Board of Education, Williams chaired the community development committee for the Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerce executive board and served as secretary of the South Regions Minority Business Development Council and president of the Birmingham Federal Executive Association. She is a 2006 alumnus of Leadership Birmingham.
