B. O. Hargrove

B. O. Hargrove (born February 21, 1887) served as Chief of the Birmingham Fire Department from 1934 to 1937.

Hargrove was born in Morgan County, where he attended public and normal schools. He joined the Birmingham Fire Department on January 1907 and was assigned to Station No. 3. In November 1912 he was promoted to Captian of Station No. 7, and transferred a few months later to the same rank at Station No. 15. On October 1, 1922 he became the department's Second Assistant Chief, and was promoted from their to Fire Chief on January 15, 1934, succeeding Jim Akin. In 1937 he was relieved by Alf Brown.
