Carol Robinson (born April 24, 1964 in Birmingham) is a senior reporter for the Alabama Media Group, covering public safety issues for Al.com and The Birmingham News.

Robinson graduated from Vestavia Hills High School in 1982 and completed a bachelor of arts in journalism and public relations as Auburn University in 1986. She began her career with the News on August 9 of that year, writing for the "Lifestyle" section and covering southeastern Alabama as a correspondent based in Auburn. When she asked for reassignment to Birmingham in 1996, she was given Chuck Dean's former Fairfield, Midfield, and Hueytown beat. Soon she found a talent for crime reporting and began covering public safety full time alongside John Archibald.
