Cosmo's Pizza was a pizzeria and sandwich shop which operated from 1986 to 2016 at 2012 Magnolia Avenue in Five Points South's Pickwick Plaza.
Cosmo's was founded by Stanley Shafferman, but soon turned over to Billy Caldwell. Long-time employees Bill Deason and Leisa Bunn partnered to purchase the business in 2000. They closed the restaurant in 2016 after months of declining sales.
Cosmo's featured a New York-style, thin-crust pizza loaded with toppings. Everything, including the sauces, was made from scratch in the restaurant's kitchen. The "House Special" was topped with pesto, prosciutto, sweet peppers, feta cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, and Italian sausage. A few of its more exotic pizza toppings included alligator sausage, hearts of palm and roasted eggplant. Cosmos was also known for its made-on-the-premises chocolate mousse and for its Sunday brunches, usually featuring live music.
