This entry is about the college of arts and sciences within Samford University. From 1841 to 1965, the university itself was named Howard College.

Howard College of Arts and Sciences is the central and oldest school in Samford University. Its origins date to the creation of the university itself as Howard College in 1841. After the university acquired Cumberland School of Law in 1961, the university reorganized itself from divisions into the schools. When the university's name changed to Samford University in 1965, the school of Arts and Sciences became Howard College of Arts and Sciences. The college occupies several buildings on campus, its offices are in Brooks Hall.
