A third Hyatt Place Hotel and 6,000 square-foot restaurant was announced for the former [[Tom Williams Cadillac]] site on the corner of [[20th Street South|20th Street]] and [[4th Avenue South]] in October [[2007]]. The proposed 150-room hotel would be developed as a joint venture of [[Corporate Realty Development]] and WeldenField Development. The site was purchased from [[Liberty National Life Insurance]] to serve demands of visitors to downtown Birmingham and [[UAB]]. [[Golden Construction]] will build the project, and Southern Hospitality Services, a division of WeldenField, will manage it. The hotel was originally projected to open in the first quarter of [[2009]].

The $36 million 150-room hotel was built as a joint venture of [[Corporate Realty Development]] and the Welden Field Financial Group.  


In its [[December 11]] meeting, the [[Birmingham City Council]] extended the completion of the "20th Street South Hotel" from [[December 31]], [[2008]] to [[August 31]], [[2009]] under the terms of CRD's Redevelopment Agreement with the City of Birmingham.
