James A. Currier (born February 16, 1939; died July 16, 2011) was an educator and football coach.
Currier earned degrees from Samford University, UAB and the University of Montevallo. He began his coaching career in 1964. He has been head coach at Jacksonville High School, Pinson Valley High School, and Springville High School. He served as assistant coach at Calera High School, Banks High School, and retired from Woodlawn High School.
Currier's student-athletes included Alabama Crimson Tide greats Johnny Musso, Gary Rutledge and Warren Lyles, Georgia Tech and San Diego Chargers great Billy Shields and Auburn Tigers cornerback Chris Davis Jr.
Currier was diagnosed with cancer in his vertebrae. At the time of his death, he lived in Pinson with his wife UnaKing. They have two sons, Dwayne and Kevyn.
