Little Shades Creek is a tributary of Shades Creek draining parts of Oxmoor Valley and Bessemer.

It rises on the southern slope of Red Mountain within the bounds of Red Mountain Park and runs northeast before turning south to cross Lyon Lane and then circling back under Lakeshore Parkway and Wenonah-Oxmoor Road to flow through the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Oxmoor Valley golf course.

It follows the parkway in the southwestern direction, crossing into Bessemer east of the New Village community and passing under Alabama Highway 150 and through Lacey's Chapel and the Morgan Road Industrial Park before joining Shades Creek proper east of Hopewell.

The steel-arched Shannon-Wenonah Road Bridge over Little Shades Creek was constructed in 1935.
