Thompson Clay "Mutt" Reynolds (born c. 1920; died March 28, 2010) was head football coach at Ramsay High School and athletic director at Vestavia Hills High School.
Reynolds was one of four sons born to Fred and Maude Thompson Reynolds. He graduated from Phillips High School and was drafted into the army for World War II, where he saw action at the Battle of the Bulge. After returning to Alabama he attended Howard College, graduating in 1953.
Reynolds was hired as a teacher and football coach at Ramsay High School, winning a state championship in his first year and going on to win 10 of 15 Crippled Children's Classic games with the Rams. The Monday Morning Quarterback Club named him their "Coach of the Year" in 1959 and 1963.
Reynolds went on to preside over the Central Board of Control for the Alabama High School Athletics Association, and, in 1970, was hired as the first coach of the new Vestavia Hills High School, and brought the Rebels to a state championship in 1980.
When he retired in 1982, the school named its football field Thompson Reynolds Stadium in his honor. He was inducted into the Alabama High School Sports Hall of Fame in 1992.
