- December 17: The Birmingham food truck ordinance was passed by the Birmingham City Council
- December 7: The 2013 Auburn Tigers football team won the Southeastern Conference championship by defeating the Missouri Tigers 59-42.
- November 26: William Parker was appointed to fill the vacancy on the Birmingham City Council left when his mother, Maxine Parker died.
- October 8: Runoffs decided five contests in the 2013 Birmingham municipal election.
