Dorothea Crosby (born c. 1962 in Birmingham) is a former judicial assistant and a candidate for Birmingham City Council District 5 in the 2017 Birmingham municipal election.

Crosby grew up in Birmingham and attended Tuggle Elementary School. She graduated from Parker High School in 1980 and also attended the Southern Junior College of Business.

Crosby served as a campaign manager for District Court judge Katrina Ross and was appointed as an assistant in her office. She has also volunteered for Birmingham City Schools' Pre-Kindergarten, for Children's Village, and for Habitat for Humanity. She is an active member of New Pilgrim Baptist Church and has two grown daughters and six grandchildren.

Since announcing her candidacy at B.O.S.S Ultra Lounge in April, Crosby campaigned on her pledge to foster openness and transparency in government, to improve educational opportunities, and to expand affordable housing.

In late 2018 Crosby was appointed as president of the Metro Birmingham NAACP, succeeding Hezekiah Jackson, who had been suspended by the national organization over his alleged participation with the Oliver Robinson Foundation to undermine efforts by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to test soils in and around the 35th Avenue Superfund Site.
