2008: The Birmingham City Council approved the sole bid for remote-controlled surveillance cameras to be used in Operation Vulcan's Thunder.
2007: The American Gospel Quartet Convention was held at the East Birmingham Church of God in Christ.
2006: Federal judge U. W. Clemon delivered an address at the Martin Luther King, Jr Unity Breakfast.

1963: An Appeal for Law and Order and Common Sense was published in newspapers across the state.
