Cas McWaters was the principal of Vestavia Hills High School from 2006 to 2013. He previously held the same position at Tarrant High School for two years.

Before he returned to Vestavia Hills as principal, McWaters had served on the faculty at Vestavia Hills for 24 years, first as a volunteer assistant coach and, after 1988 as a full-time science teacher. He was the school's assistant principal from 1999 to 2004 when he left to lead Tarrant High School.
