This is a List of homicides in 2022, including homicide cases reported throughout the Birmingham District. At least 10 homicides have been reported in the area for the year. Note that a "homicide" refers to the cause of death as determined by a medical examiner, not to the crime of murder as charged by prosecutors and adjudicated through the courts.

Irondale

1. January 2: McKayla Roberts, 27, was struck and killed while walking on I-20 between the Grants Mill Road and Old Leeds Road exits. The driver of a Dodge Journey believed to have hit her did not stop and is sought. (report)

Unincorporated Jefferson County

1. January 1: Robert Leon Doss, 36, was found dead in a wooded area off Lock 17 Road near Griffis Road west of Oak Grove. His death is being investigated as an apparent homicide. No arrest. (report)
2. January 7: An unidentified male was found shot to death near the intersection of Shady Grove Road and Porter Road in Maytown. No arrest. (report)
