Alabama Bound is a yearly book festival held since 1999 at the Birmingham Public Library with invited Alabama authors giving readings and presentations from recent works. It is organized by Linda Wilson and usually is scheduled for the same weekend as the Magic City Art Connection at Linn Park.
2008 festival
The 10th annual Alabama Bound festival was programmed to complement The Big Read: Project Mockingbird with panelists discussing the influence of the novel To Kill a Mockingbird, along with food and entertainment. Participants include:
- Wayne Flynt, historian
- Chris Metress, Samford University Department of English
- Tondra Loder-Jackson, UAB Assistant Professor
- Mary Badham, actress (To Kill a Mockingbird, 1962)
- Sandy Jaffe, film producer (Our Mockingbird, 2008)
- Red Mountain, string band
- Four Eagles, gospel quartet
- Irondale Cafe, lunch catering

1,439 visitors came to hear 19 authors who were part of the one day event on April 14, 2007:
