President of the University of Montevallo

The President of the University of Montevallo is the executive head of the University of Montevallo, serving at the pleasure of the Board of Trustees. The University has had 15 presidents since its founding in 1896:

7. F. Edward Lund (July 1, 1952 – August 1957)
8. Howard Mitchell Phillips Jr (August 1957–1963)
9. Delos P. Culp (1963 – 1968)
10. Kermit A. Johnson (March 1968 – 1977)
11. James F. Vickrey Jr (August 1, 1977 – 1988)
12. John W. Stewart (interim March 1988 – October 11, 1989) (president October 12, 1989 – June 1992)
13. Robert McChesney (July 1, 1992 – August, 2006)
14. Philip Williams (August 1, 2006 – July 31, 2010)
