SouthPoint Bank is a Birmingham-based bank headquartered at 3501 Grandview Parkway in Birmingham. Steve Smith is president and CEO of the bank which was formed in 2005 by former SouthTrust Bank employees after its acquisition by Wachovia. In 2017 the bank reported deposits of $255 million and assets of just over $300 million.

SouthPoint opened its first location in the Colonnade Shopping Center in October 2005. The bank completed its headquarters office in January 2018 on the site of a former Kobe Japanese Steakhouse visible from U.S. Highway 280. It also operates six mortgage offices across the state. In 2021 SouthPoint Bank merged with the Cullman-based Merchants Bank of Alabama.
