Vanderbilt Road is a north-south street, part of Alabama State Highway 79 running north from Richard Arrington Jr Boulevard North at 35th Street North to 27th Avenue North, where it continues eastward on the route of the former Pinson Pike to Tallapoosa Street at East Lake Boulevard , and then north to Tarrant, where it continues as Pinson Valley Parkway.
In Birmingham, Vanderbilt Road forms the neighborhood border between Collegeville to the west and Inglenook to the east.
